My dear friend, Hazel Tribble has been on my case. She’s retiring soon and very excited about pursuing dreams and adventures that she has been planning for years. She’s a wise spirit and has been encouraging me to seek out my dreams now when I’ve 20-30 years to keep working.
I know she’s right. It’s the same message that I preach to all of my students – adult and child. It’s the message that I seek from my favorites: Coperthwaite, Thoreau and the like.
I usually listen to something to help clear my mind and fall asleep. Last night I played a live Pete Seeger concert. It didn’t clear my mind or help me sleep. Pete was singing songs that I’ve heard all of my life, but now they’re telling me it’s time to stop following life and planning it. I hear you Peter, Hazel, Bill and Henry…I’m just not sure how to get there.
I heard Pete’s “Take It from Dr. King” for the first time last night. What great song! It says it all!
