It’s a day to support locally owned businesses. It’s a day to support local artisans, farmers and restaurants.
On Black Friday we watched huge mindless masses lining up to spend baskets of money on consumables sold by big box stores and made overseas. These items will all end up in landfills,
Almost all of the money spent in this manner leaves to community for the coffers of already huge businesses.
When you support a small business the money spent goes directly to folks like you and me. The shop owner benefits, the artisan benefits, the community benefits local architecture is supported. It’s a win-win-win-win situtation.
Many items created by local artists and artisan gain value and become family heirlooms.
In support of local merchants I’ve placed all of my work in galleries for the holiday season. Please visit these folks and take a look at my offerings. If you are looking for something special let me know and I can let you know where it is. It’s not too late to order custom pieces. Most custom work is no more expensive than my other work.
